How the project's results are transferable?
The HydroEurope project propose a useful framework for transferability by extracting knowledge from six diverse case study catchments across Europe into a comprehensive suite of 18 modular teaching units. These units, structured around the core themes of uncertainty and modelling, flash floods and climate change, and accidental water pollution, provide both universal knowledge and region-specific solutions. The pan-European vision is achieved through this structured knowledge transfer, where the teaching materials—encompassing tutorials, datasets, and methodologies—serve as a flexible toolkit for improving knowledge at an institutional level (academia & industry). This approach ensures that water managers facing new challenges in different type of situations (e.g. basins) can selectively adapt and apply relevant strategies to their specific geographical and hydrological contexts. By transforming localized case studies into generalized learning instruments, the project creates a scalable model that enhances knowledge and problem-solving capacity across European water management issues, effectively bridging the gap between regional research and continental application.
